What Participating Countries Had to Offer at IBTM World 2019

The Dominican Republic Tourism Promotion Office attended, from November 19 to 21, IBTM World, an international reference event for the tourism of incentive meetings and events (MICE), held in Barcelona.
The Dominican Republic attended IBTM World with the objective of positioning itself in a major travel segment within its international promotion strategy: business tourism, congresses and incentives, with its specialized offer for event organizers, and tourism into the interior, coupled with its proposal of nature and cultural tourism.
“Once again, the Caribbean destination is faithful to the great event with the tourism of meetings and events, which will gather in the Gran Vía de Fira complex in Barcelona to more than 2,800 exhibitors from this industry,” the Tourism Office said in a statement.
The Dominican Republic is among the more than 150 countries that participated in the professional event in Barcelona, Spain.
Wales launched the ‘Year of the Outdoors’ campaign at IBTM World 2019. The thematic year aims to highlight the country’s strengths in outdoor pursuits, sports and adventure, in addition to wellbeing and mindfulness.
The year also aims to celebrate the country’s outstanding natural landscape and wealth of outdoor experiences, including its three National Parks, 600 Castles and 870-mile Coastal Path which makes Wales the only country in the world with a continuous walking path around its entire coastline.
The Year of the Outdoors will include two recently secured international showcases to be hosted in 2020 at the Celtic Manor Resort and the newly opened ICC Wales. Meet GB – VisitBritain’s flagship event for the international business events community – will take place in April 2020, incorporating themes of nature, wellbeing, and sustainability using inspiration from ICC Wales’ woodland surroundings.
Wales will also host the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) October 2020 – the first time the global B2B event for the golf travel industry has been hosted in the UK. The event aims to showcase Wales’ business strengths in combination with their natural terrain. The country is home to 200 golf courses, from historic seaside links to parkland resorts.
As the city gears up for 2020, a year in which it will begin hosting its largest ever event – a World Expo – Dubai showcased its diverse business events offerings and capabilities to meetings industry professionals at IBTM World in Barcelona.
Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau, is once again leading Dubai’s strong presence at the trade show, being held from Nov.19-21, joined by key partners and stakeholders as they collectively continue to grow the city’s business events sector, a key contributor to tourism and the wider economy.
Taking place at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via, IBTM World has welcomed over 13,000 industry professionals, providing a business platform to promote Dubai’s qualities as host city for meetings, conferences and corporate incentive travel programs during one of the largest and most significant trade events globally.
DBE’s participation in the 2019 edition is aimed at further strengthening relationships with key decision makers and influencers, and discuss how the bureau can support international business events taking place in Dubai.
