Canadian all-in luxury brand Royalton Luxury Resorts is committed to opening its doors in Barbados, according to a news report posted by Barbados Today.

This is the latest update coming from Anderson Howard, Regional Director Eastern Caribbean at Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts, who reiterates that despite the effects of COVID-19 on global tourism business, the biggest hotel group in the Caribbean is forging ahead with plans for the construction of the Royalton Barbados.

With a proven track record and a wide range of properties in Mexico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua, Grenada, Tobago and Cuba, Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts is poised to redefine west coast luxury with a US$200 million, modern All-In Luxury (all-inclusive) beachfront resort.

The regional director also confirmed the socio-economic benefits associated with the addition of the brand to the island’s tourism landscape, including the creation of 600 direct and indirect jobs, increased airlift out of key gateways and increased market share for destination Barbados due to increased distribution via Sunwing’s online travel agencies and other group distribution channels.

The Royalton Luxury Resorts is the flagship luxury brand within the Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts hotels group and is a subsidiary of the wider Toronto-based Sunwing Travel Group.

The Sunwing Travel Group is the largest vertically integrated travel company in North America and oversees operations across five key segments of the travel and tourism industry including tour operations, airline, hotel operations, retail and destination management. Their affiliate brands include Sunwing Airlines, Signature Vacations, Luxe and Nexus Tours.
