Cuba and France Bounded by a Habano

The glamour and exclusiveness of France, paired with the authenticity and terroir of Cuba, were shed on the 19th Habano Festival during the master lecture entitled “History and Validity of Quai D’Orsay Brand”, a deluxe cigar that was initially conceived with the aim set on the French market and it presently plays the leading role in the most exclusive spaces around the world.

Its origins and specific characteristics were detailed by Yves Belaubre, a journalist, writer and expert on the Habano realm; and Antoine Bathie, Chairman of SEITA Cigares, Exclusive Distributor of Habanos, S.A. in the French market. The lecture was also chaired by Jose Maria Lopez Inchaurbe, Strategic Marketing Director of Habanos, S.A. and Carlos Ferran, International Marketing Supervisor of Habanos, S.A.

“This brand was meant to please the preferences of French consumers, who are highly experienced and demanding smokers. A special blend was obtained, which was turned into four factory vitolas and later restructured as five store vitolas,” Mr. Ferran explained.

According to Antoine Bathie, Quai D’Orsay is very special and all French aficionados and the whole world are fond of it, a reality that has been clearly seen during the present edition of the Habano Festival.
