Cunard has unveiled a captivating lineup of shore excursions as it prepares for its highly anticipated return to South America in 2025. The luxury cruise line will reintroduce the region with the Queen Victoria’s 78-night South America Discovery voyage, marking its first sailing there since 2020. Departing from Southampton on January 9, 2025, this roundtrip voyage promises immersive experiences across iconic destinations.

As part of this grand voyage, Cunard is offering a wide variety of shore excursions, with some lasting up to five days, allowing passengers to fully explore the diverse landscapes and cultures of South America. Highlights include:

  • Four-day Machu Picchu Adventure
    Travel deep into Peru’s Andes to explore the majestic ruins of Machu Picchu, with stops at a local Andean village to meet Quechua-speaking residents, a scenic train journey, and visits to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the sacred Koricancha site.

  • Five-day Galapagos Experience
    Discover the unique wildlife of the Galapagos Islands, with full-day boat tours exploring islands such as Bartolome, Seymour, and Santa Fe. The tour concludes with a visit to the Twin Craters on Santa Cruz Island.

  • Four-day Iguassa Falls Excursion
    Experience the breathtaking Iguassa Falls, with activities including white-water rafting, helicopter rides over the gorge, and jungle treks to observe native wildlife. The excursion covers both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides of the falls.

    A guided city tour of Salvador, showcasing landmarks such as Carlos Gomes Avenue and Campo Grande Square.

    This scenic three-hour cruise passes iconic Rio de Janeiro beaches and offers stunning views of Sugar Loaf Mountain.

  • Montecristi and Manta Highlights
    A tour from Manta to Montecristi, known for its famous Toquilla hats, where guests will witness a traditional hat-weaving demonstration.

  • Sights of Buenos Aires with Dinner and Tango
    Explore the Argentinian capital, then enjoy an authentic dinner and tango show.
