2016: Cuba Gets a Million Tourists in Record Time
One million tourists have arrived in Cuba so far this year, 11 days before the island nation chalked its first million sunbathers last year, according to a press release issued by the local Ministry of Tourism.
In 2015, Cuba logged a record high 3.5 million foreign visitors and estimates forecast nearly 4 million tourist arrivals by the end of the ongoing year.
So far in 2016, the largest Caribbean island has seen a continuous growth with a staggering 14.6 percent increase in the first quarter of the year. Germany, UK, the U.S., France, Italy and Argentina have been the top outbound markets in the course of 2016.
