AA Resumes Miami-Camaguey Route, Takes Reservations for Havana Flights

With the arrival of Airbus 319 at the Ignacio Agramonte International Airport of the city of Camaguey, direct flights between the United States and this territory, which began almost half a century ago and were interrupted in 1961, were resumed.
American Airlines, one of the top U.S. carriers, was the first to land in Camaguey soil after more than 50 years of no regular routes between the two countries.
The flight from Miami, Florida, has a daily frequency. Other U.S. airlines, like JetBlue, Silver Airways and Frontier Airlines will be also flying to Camaguey for a grand total of 23 air operations from the United States on a weekly basis.
The resumption of direct commercial flights between the United States and Cuba was agreed earlier this year as part of the process of normalization of relations between the two countries.
Cuba is on the routing list of American Airline. As of Sunday the U.S. airline accepts reservations for Havana. Service is scheduled to start from Charlotte and Miami, offering 1 and 4 daily flights, respectively.
Service for Havana flights are scheduled to start on November 30th depending government approval.
