Interjet Starts New Toronto-Mexico Service

There was cake and plenty of fanfare at Toronto Pearson Airport, where Interjet Airlines celebrated its new nonstop service to Mexico City’s Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez, as well as to Cancun International Airport.

The new service will offer four flights a week between Toronto and Mexico onboard Airbus A320 aircraft, which seats 150 passengers. Roundtrip fares from Toronto to Cancun start at $409, and $499 to Mexico City.

Calling Canada “a natural market” for the airline, Andres Martinez Reynoso, Marketing & PR Director at Interjet told Travelweek that while other airlines are going smaller and shrinking personal space onboard, Interjet is bucking the trend and “going in the other direction, offering the biggest Economy cabin you can find.”

Featuring 86-cm pitch for all seats, Interjet’s Economy class ensures a comfortable flight for all. Plus, passengers can enjoy bar service, approximately 20% lower airfares and no luggage fees.

“We always respect the passenger – that is our key ingredient as to what we have to offer,” added Reynoso. “The Canadian trade market is important to us.”
