Jamaica’s Tourism Minister Calls for Caribbean Multidestination Travel

Seeking a collaborative approach within the Caribbean countries and to promote regional tourism, Jamaican Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett said in a conference that such an approach would result in a “tourism explosion in the Caribbean like never seen before”.

He said Jamaica already has made this move and has signed an agreement with Cuba, Mexico and Dominican Republic. This collaborative approach will help in island hopping and rich holiday experience with more thrills and activities.

Creating a strong labor market is very important in order to boost tourism. He considers new products, partnerships, human capital, investments and new markets as pillars of success. A stronger impact on value and price can change this current scenario of tourism marketplace.

For a new future of Caribbean tourism, stakeholders are required to modernize their way of thinking and create new opportunities and experiences and make the most of such opportunities.

To attract the younger crowd, incentives for operators are being provided throughout the Caribbean. 50 top attraction providers of the Caribbean attended this conference for growth and development of the industry.

Island Routes, a five-time award winner of the World Travel Award held an important position in the conference and showed its support luring attraction providers throughout Caribbean.
