Las Vegas Tops List of Christmas Destinations for Travelers
Priceline.com’s annual list of top Christmas destinations is out and many travelers are giving themselves a holiday present of a few days in the sun. In fact, Las Vegas takes the number one spot on the list of top 25 destinations for the December holiday period, based on hotel reservations made on priceline.com.
For the third year in a row, Las Vegas, Orlando, New York City, and Orange County, continue to lead the list of top destinations since 2013. Cities that jumped significantly in popularity this year include Atlanta (up 29 spots from #43 to #14), Nashville (up 22 spots from #50 to #28), Washington D.C. (up 19 spots from #32 to #13), and Tampa (up 16 spots from #45 to #29).
“In a recent survey, 56% of Americans told us they needed a vacation from the holidays, and many of them are doing just that with a Christmas escape to warmer weather,” said priceline.com Travel Analyst Brian Ek. “For those who are thinking about a taking a getaway before the year’s end, priceline.com is running a special holiday promotion called Express Deals UnwrappedSM until New Year’s Weekend.”
Destinations with average daily hotel room rates under $100 per night include Las Vegas, Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg, Atlanta, San Antonio, Hampton Roads, and Tampa.
