Air Canada is launching a new, non-stop service between Toronto and Rio de Janeiro beginning December 11, 2014. The year-round flights to Brazil’s “Marvelous City” will complement Air Canada’s nonstop service to Sao Paulo.

TAM, part of LATAM Airlines Group, will also cut the service on flights from the US and Mexico. This decision was taken after evaluating the average load factor of TAM Airlines’ First Class service.

With the purpose of positioning Cuba among the main tourist destinations in the Caribbean, a new operation of the Swiss airline Edelweiss Air AG will begin on May 8 to connect Zurich and Havana.

Delta Air Lines will become the first major U.S. airline to provide daily, year-round flights to Mazatlan from Los Angeles, increasing air capacity by 15 percent with 160 seats per flight on its Boeing 737-800 aircrafts. Other U.S. carriers currently servicing Mazatlan from Los Angeles include Alaska Airlines.

JetBlue introduced a second route from the United States to Trinidad and Tobago this week, just months after launching its inaugural flight to Piarco International Airport from New York.

Accelerating the wheels of revitalization, Vacation Express and Bahamasair in partnership with the Grand Bahama Island Tourism Sector introduced weekly 737-400 nonstop Jet service from 8 US cities for summer 2014.
