TAP Portugal has increased the number of flights between London Gatwick and Lisbon as part of their 2013 winter schedule. TAP will now operate 11 flights per week between the two airports, commencing on October 27th and running until March 29th.

Cape Air continues its growth in the Caribbean by adding nonstop service between St. Thomas and Tortola. Beginning on December 16, daily flights will depart St. Thomas at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Tortola at 2:50 p.m.

Boeing, International lease finance corporation and Aeromexico celebrated the first delivery of a 787 Dreamliner for use by the Mexico City-based carrier. The jetliner, delivered from Boeing's Everett, Wash., delivery center, took off for Mexico City.

Guyana Tourism Minister Mohamed Irfaan Ali led talks last week with Caribbean Airlines’ Executive Team, in a bid to address “key and critical issues.” The discussions included issues such as customer service, in-transit process and security checks of Guyanese passengers, according to a government release.

Regional airline LIAT says it is fully aware of the difficulties its customers across the region are having, with the airline blaming a breakdown of planes and the weather for some of the ongoing problems. LIAT is insisting that passenger safety remains a priority.
