Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) officials say the southern Caribbean archipelago is positioned to achieve continued growth in 2020.
Belize’s emergence as one of the fastest-growing Caribbean tourism destinations continued in 2019 as the country reported 503,177 overnight, land-based visitors last year. 
For the first time in recent years, the Dominican Republic closed 2019 with a negative numbers as far as hotel occupancy rates are concerned.
The US tourism & leisure industry saw a drop of 10.3 percent in overall deal activity during December 2019, when compared with the last 12-month average.
Grenada continues its stellar growth in yachting, with preliminary visitor arrivals currently at 24,611. Also in the Caribbean, the Montserrat Tourism Division has confirmed visitor arrivals to the island increased by 14 percent last year when compared to 2018.
Results from the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association's (CHTA) fifth annual Industry Performance and Outlook Study indicated that 2019 was a record year.
