Argentina: 3 Plans to Make the Most of Entre Ríos Rivers
Entre Ríos (Between Rivers) finds the origin of its name in the fact that, logically, it’s a location bounded by rivers (among which the Paraná and the Uruguay stand out). 1. Sport Fishing
We have already said this: Entre Ríos lives up to its name and is surrounded by water. On the west side, from north to south, is the Paraná River. And on its east side, the Uruguay River watches over the borders. It is very clear that river coordinates abound and precisely for that reason, it leads the Argentine podium when it comes to choosing fishing spots.
Which localities open their doors to tourists with their rods and hooks? It depends on the river you want to visit. In the Paraná tributaries, the city of Victoria was declared the official headquarters of sport fishing, ideal for fans of catching yellow catfish. La Paz, on the other hand, has the Curuzú Chalí Island where the annual Dorado and Surubí Festivities are held, which receive national and international fishermen. And on the other hand, Paraná, Gualeguay and Santa Elena are perfect for those who chase dorado.
However, the Uruguay River surrounds the cities of Federación, Concordia, Colón, and Concepción del Uruguay, which together hold the title of cradle of dorados, bogas, pejerreyes and surubíes. In fact, on this side of the water you can find the largest dorados in the world. Just mark on the map the famous Salto Grande dam in the city of Concordia. In addition to being a work of engineering with guided tours and amazing viewpoints, it is the owner of fish weighing more than 20 kilos.

If we are talking about the Uruguay River, there are the coasts of Chajarí and Federación, which in addition to a white soil are strategically close to natural hot springs of up to 9 hectares. In this area there is also the city of Concordia that hosts options such as Los Sauces, Playa Nébel and the entire coast of Lake Salto Grande, which has small beaches along with perfect resorts to connect with this natural world.
