Guatemala’s Lake Atitlan Relying on Cultural Tourism

The turquoise blue waters of Lake Atitlan of Guatemala’s Lake Atitlan attract tourists from around the world.

But residents of one lakeshore town, Santa Catarina Palopo, are hoping to draw even more visitors through a project inspired by the works of Haas & Hahn.

The Dutch artists are famous for helping transform a Rio de Janeiro favela by painting it with vibrant colours. And they are planning to do the same at Santa Catarina Palopo.
