American Airlines Reinstates Seasonal Montevideo-Miami Route Starting in December

American Airlines has officially confirmed the reactivation of its traditional seasonal route connecting the Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo with the Miami International Airport. This strategic operation, which recurs annually to coincide with peak tourism flow in the Southern Cone, is scheduled to commence on December third, two thousand twenty-six, underscoring the company’s commitment to the Uruguayan market following nearly three decades of continuous service.

During the high-demand phase, which extends through March second, two thousand twenty-seven, the airline will maintain daily flight frequencies. This expanded schedule surpasses the capacity of previous seasonal cycles, specifically designed to capture increased passenger volume during the year-end holidays. Starting March third until the official season conclusion on March twenty-eighth, two thousand twenty-seven, the route will shift to a three-times-weekly operational model on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The flights will be serviced by Boeing 787-8 aircraft, featuring a total configuration of two hundred thirty-four passenger seats. The cabin layout includes twenty seats in Business class, twenty-eight in Premium Economy, and one hundred eighty-six in the main cabin. The flight schedule features departures from Miami at twenty-two fifty-five, arriving in Montevideo at ten-ten the following morning, while return flights from Carrasco will depart at twenty-two thirty, landing in the United States at zero-five-forty-five local time.

Pascual Álvarez, Executive Director of Operations for American Airlines across South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, highlighted that the seasonal service addresses the needs of international travelers visiting Uruguay and provides local passengers with seamless transit options via the Miami hub.

Matías Carluccio, Commercial Director at Aeropuertos Uruguay, emphasized that the reactivation of this exclusive route significantly strengthens the nation's connectivity with North America. Officials noted that this service expansion provides essential logistical alternatives for the upcoming summer season, reinforcing the region's position as a key destination for international travelers.
