Qatar Airways, recently named World’s Best Airline 2025 for a record ninth time by Skytrax, will relocate its New York operations to the New Terminal One at JFK Airport in 2026. The move includes the opening of the airline’s first dedicated lounge in the United States, a 15,000-square-foot facility designed to enhance the premium travel experience.

The New Terminal One, part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion JFK transformation project, will feature modern architecture, light-filled spaces, advanced technology, and a simplified passenger journey. Qatar Airways’ new lounge will offer VIP check-in, relaxation zones, premium dining, prayer rooms, children’s play areas, and duty-free shopping, giving Business Class travelers seamless access to boarding gates.

Since launching in New York in 2008 from Terminal 8, Qatar Airways has grown its U.S. network to 11 destinations, serving over 3 million passengers annually and connecting travelers to more than 170 destinations worldwide via its Doha hub.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group CEO, said: “Our new state-of-the-art lounge will provide an enhanced experience at every touchpoint, complementing our industry-leading Business Class service and reaffirming our commitment to connecting global travelers to New York.”

Jennifer Aument, CEO of The New Terminal One, added that the partnership with Qatar Airways “reaffirms the strong value we offer international carriers seeking to grow their presence in New York.”

The move underscores Qatar Airways’ strategy to elevate passenger experience in one of its most important U.S. markets, while integrating seamlessly with JFK’s advanced terminal facilities and world-class retail and dining offerings.
