SAS, Aeroméxico Codeshare to Transform Transatlantic Travel
Effective December 1, 2025, SAS and Aeroméxico have launched a codeshare agreement linking several U.S. and Canadian cities to Mexico City, with onward connections to Scandinavia, enhancing transatlantic connectivity.
The partnership is designed to improve route flexibility, scheduling, and traveler convenience, catering to both business and leisure passengers. This move strengthens travel networks between North America, Latin America, and Europe.
For Mexican destinations, the codeshare is expected to increase tourist arrivals, stimulate local economies, and expand access to cultural, leisure, and business activities across Northern Europe.
Analysts emphasize that strategic airline alliances like this are key to supporting the growth of international tourism, providing competitive fares and smoother connections for global travelers.
The collaboration also aligns with trends in sustainable travel, as improved route planning can reduce fuel consumption and emissions, while maintaining high service standards.
Industry insiders note that this agreement could serve as a model for future airline partnerships, offering enhanced connectivity and reinforcing the importance of global aviation networks in tourism growth.
