Taino Bay Terminal in the Dominican Republic to Open in 2020
The Taino Bay Terminal, under construction adjacent to the San Felipe Fortress in Puerto Plata, is slated to receive the first cruise ship passengers in November, according to the Ministry of Tourism, the Dominican Port Authority and Puerto Plata Port Investment, the company building the facility, according to a report penned by Gay Nagle Myers on Travel Weekly
Construction of the new cruise terminal started in 2019 and upon completion, the new Taino Bay port will be the second cruise port on the destination's north coast. The first to open was Amber Cove in 2016 in Maimon Bay, 30 minutes away, the brief report on Travel Weekly concludes.
