Viking, a leading cruise line, has announced the successful float-out of its newest ship, the Viking Hathor, marking a significant milestone in its construction journey. Scheduled to debut in August 2024, the Viking Hathor will join the company's expanding fleet on the Nile River, offering guests the renowned 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary.

The float-out ceremony, a traditional event, took place at Massara shipyard in Cairo, signifying the ship's transition to its final stage of construction. Following this milestone, the Viking Hathor will undergo final outfitting and interior build-out before welcoming guests on board.

The Viking Hathor, accommodating 82 guests in 41 staterooms, draws inspiration from Viking's award-winning river and ocean ships, featuring elegant Scandinavian design elements. As an identical sister ship to the Viking Osiris and the Viking Aton, it boasts a distinctive square bow and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace, offering guests a luxurious and immersive cruising experience.

With the addition of the Viking Hathor, Viking continues to bolster its presence on the Nile, anticipating a fleet of six ships sailing the river by 2025. The company's commitment to expanding its Egypt fleet underscores its dedication to providing exceptional travel experiences in this captivating region.

The Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, offered aboard the Viking Hathor, promises an enriching journey for guests. Beginning with a three-night stay in Cairo, guests have the opportunity to explore iconic sites such as the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Subsequent highlights include visits to Luxor, the Valley of the Queens, and the Valley of the Kings, among other historic landmarks along the Nile River.

Viking's dedication to offering unparalleled travel experiences has garnered recognition, with the Viking Osiris recently named one of the "Best New Cruises" by Condé Nast Traveler. Additionally, Viking's Egypt itineraries have been recommended by TIME magazine as part of its "World's Greatest Places" list.

For guests seeking to extend their Egyptian adventure, Viking offers Pre and Post Extensions that provide exclusive access to museums and exhibits, allowing travelers to delve deeper into Egypt's rich history and culture. From exploring London's Egyptian Collection at the British Museum to visiting Petra in Jordan, these extensions offer immersive experiences for curious travelers.
