Authorities Welcome TravelMart Quito 2024

At the welcome reception for TravelMart Quito 2024, held at Quito’s Botanical Garden, Ecuador’s Minister of Tourism, Mateo Estrella-Durán, introduced an event aimed at bringing together leading tourism professionals from Ibero-America to highlight Ecuador's and its capital's recovery as a top-tier tourist destination.
"The Tourism Development Committee for Ecuador's Sustainability has made a significant effort to ensure that tourism activity grows in harmony with environmental and local communities," the minister stated. He emphasized the ongoing dedication to reducing environmental impact and positioning Ecuador as a leader in sustainable tourism.
Estrella-Durán encouraged visitors from around the world to experience the country's rich diversity, urging them to engage with it meaningfully: "Our goal is not only for visitors to enjoy the beauty of our country, but also to contribute to the preservation of its unique natural and cultural landscapes."
He then welcomed Raúl García, President of CAPTUR, thanking him for positioning the region as an "international stage for a superior travel destination."
García addressed the experts, noting that the unity of the sector has been crucial in securing a strong position in the country’s tourism industry: "It’s the student, the transport, the guide, and the airport," he said, highlighting the value of all contributors, from the most basic to the most complex, in driving Pichincha’s—and ultimately Ecuador’s—development as a tourism hub.
Finally, the floor was given to Manuel Cuevas, CEO of Travel Mart. As this 45th edition of the renowned fair kicked off, he expressed his appreciation for the effort and presence of buyers, suppliers, and all those involved in Ibero-American tourism.
TravelMart Quito 2024 officially begins, marking a new chapter for tourism in the region.
