Chicago Set to Shine on the Global Stage as Host of IPW 2025

Chicago is gearing up to welcome the world as it prepares to host IPW 2025, the premier tourism trade show in the United States. From June 14 to 18, the city will transform into the capital of inbound travel, receiving thousands of buyers, media, and professionals from over 70 countries at McCormick Place, one of the largest convention centers in North America.
The city’s tourism board, Choose Chicago, has curated a vibrant program to celebrate the city’s unique energy. Among the planned experiences are a spectacular opening night at the Field Museum, a press-exclusive brunch at Wrigley Field, and cultural immersions in some of Chicago’s most authentic neighborhoods, such as Hyde Park, Pilsen, and West Town. The festivities will culminate with a closing party at Navy Pier, a Chicago icon.
According to Lisa Nucci, Chief Marketing Officer at Choose Chicago, the goal is to offer visitors a “genuine taste of the city” and help them discover why it’s considered one of the most dynamic urban destinations in the U.S. The event will spotlight Chicago’s lifestyle, hospitality, and deep-rooted cultural identity.
The impact of IPW 2025 is projected to be enormous, with estimates suggesting it could drive over $5.5 billion in future travel spending and support the arrival of more than 11 million international visitors. The event returns to Chicago for the first time since 2014, reinforcing the city’s global appeal and strategic importance as major events like the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics approach.
With excitement building and the countdown underway, IPW 2025 promises to position Chicago at the forefront of global tourism promotion, offering a platform for international collaboration and industry growth on an unprecedented scale.
