Connect Barbados 2025 Opens with Strong Push for Global Tourism

Connect Barbados 2025 officially opened on Monday, June 24, marking a renewed push to position the island as a leading destination in the Caribbean and to expand into the Latin American market.
Organized by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), the event brings together international travel buyers, tourism leaders, and local entrepreneurs. BTMI CEO Andrea Franklin opened the event by highlighting the island’s sustained tourism growth and the importance of strengthening ties with key source markets.
Tourism and International Transport Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill outlined the country’s vision for expanding tourism through public-private sector collaboration, while Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association CEO Ryan Forde presented an overview of the island’s tourism infrastructure.
Leroy Browne, general manager of Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle Resort, welcomed delegates and showcased his property’s amenities and services.
BTMI reaffirmed its confidence in the Latin American outbound market, seeing it as a crucial element for tourism diversification. The event features B2B meetings, technical tours, and networking activities, running until June 26.
With participation from international tour operators, travel agencies, and local hoteliers, Connect Barbados continues to strengthen the island’s role as a bridge between the Caribbean and global tourism markets.
