The Dominican Republic has been selected to host the Caribbean Tourism Investment Summit 2026, a major regional event that will bring together government leaders, investors, and tourism professionals from across the Americas.

The summit, organized by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), will focus on sustainable development, innovation, and financing for tourism infrastructure in the Caribbean.

Tourism Minister David Collado welcomed the decision, calling it a “vote of confidence” in the Dominican Republic’s leadership in tourism recovery and investment attraction.

The event will be held in Punta Cana, with participation expected from over 40 countries. Sessions will include discussions on renewable energy in resorts, destination branding, and the role of public-private partnerships.

Analysts anticipate that the summit will lead to new agreements and funding for hotel projects, airports, and environmental conservation efforts.

By hosting the event, the Dominican Republic reaffirms its position as a regional hub for tourism growth and innovation in the Caribbean.
