Habano Festival’s Welcome Night Flew Sky High

The welcome night of the 22nd Habano Festival, held on Monday, February 24th at the luxurious Club Habana in the Cuban capital, gathered more than a thousand delegates and guests who also witnessed the unique launch of the first Bolivar Belicosos Finos Cosecha 2016 Reserve.
After the words of welcome to those present by the co-presidents of Habanos S.A., Inocente Núñez and Luís Sánchez-Harguindey, the vice-president of Marketing of the company, Leopoldo Cintras González, said that the inaugural evening would be dedicated to the Bolívar brand that “due to its strength and personality is no doubt the favorite of the most demanding Habanos smokers”.
The Bolivar Belicosos Finos Cosecha 2016 Reserve, of the Bolívar brand, “owes its name to Simón Bolívar, a man of extraordinary passion, just as we all feel the excellence, the exquisiteness, the quality of any of the vitolas of this brand, be it a Giant Crown or a Coronas Extras,” added Mr. Cintras González from the central balcony of Club Habana.
The vitola of the Bolivar Belicosos Finos Vintage 2016 Reserve is balanced, featuring ring gauge 52 vine and 140 mm long, designed and cut out for the most demanding Habanos smokers.
Bolívar Belicosos Finos is presented in a limited edition of 5,000 numbered cases containing 20 wonderful and exquisite Habanos each.
And then, the excited crowd witnessed a singular ceremony when a model, tied to an huge tethered balloon, was transported through the air a hundred meters and at a considerable height, carrying in her hands a box of the Bolivar Belicosos Finos 2016 Reserve, which she later deposited, as a winged deity, in the hands of Mr. Cintras González, who was waiting on the balcony from where minutes before he had delivered his keynote speech.
Dinner and good music followed later, but what actually made this evening unforgettable was, without a doubt, the high flight of the 2016 Belicosos Finos Cosecha Reserve, just another gift from the gods to those who prefer the best premium cigars in the world... and in the Olympus.
