PROMPERÚ Presents the First Tourism Investment Meeting

The Peru Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PROMPERU) presents the First Tourism Investment Meeting: Innovation and Sustainability, an important initiative to promote tourism investment opportunities in the country, with the participation of 14 renowned international and two national experts in the sector.

The meeting, organised by PROMPERU with the support of the Tourism and Society Think Tank (TSTT), (https://www.english.tourismandsocietytt.com/activities/meetings/peru ) will be held in the cities of Lima (31 August and 1 September) and Tarapoto (2 September), and will feature a format that will integrate panel discussions and networking sessions.

For this initiative, PROMPERU is working with the Tourism and Society Think Tank (TSTT), an organisation that provides an open space for international professionals to present their vision for the development of concepts, ideas, tools and innovative trends in the tourism sector.

"Through this meeting PROMPERÚ strengthens its commitment to the development and growth of the tourism sector in the country, an important driver of our economy and the development of thousands of Peruvian families, which is sustained by our unparalleled historical, cultural, natural and gastronomic wealth", says Amora Carbajal, Executive President of PROMPERÚ.

Among the guest speakers, some of whom will participate virtually, are renowned personalities such as Aziz A. Abdukhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mohamed Taleb, expert advisor to the United Nations (UN) on Territorial Development, Tourism and Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

Alexander V. Kammel, director of the "Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards Festival", and director of the "Festival of Festivals", which awards the CIFFT Grand Prix to the best tourism films in the world; Antonio Santos, director of the Tourism and Society Think Tank (TSTT); Frank Babinger, deputy vice-rector for Employability and Entrepreneurship at the Complutense University of Madrid; Fernando Olivera, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Tamaulipas, in Mexico; among others, will also be present.

"In this way, we also seek to bring the Peruvian business community related to tourism, as well as academia, closer to the latest strategies, trends and reflections on innovation, sustainability and investment in the sector," says Carbajal.

The inaugural session of the First Tourism Investment Meeting in Lima will be held on 31 August at 10 a.m., in the auditorium of PROMPERÚ, located at Av. Jorge Basadre 610, San Isidro.
