The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic, ASONAHORES, announced the 21st edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange, DATE, to be held from March 31st to April 3rd in Punta Cana.

This activity is dedicated to the promotion and commercialization of the Dominican tourism offer and will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana.

Andrés Marranzini Grullón, Executive Vice President of ASONAHORES, explained that DATE has contributed to the growth of tourism activity, expressing the effort between the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Offices in the projection and international promotion of the Dominican Republic to generate business agreements and surpass the number of tourists who visit us.

Sheyly Viuque, Marketing Director of ASONAHORES, indicated that the DATE 2020 program will present a robust program of highly relevant workshops for the sector, such as Friendly Communications for Happy Clients, given by Thais Antoniolli, President of Latam; Sustainable Tourism, Is It Possible? by Jake Kheel, president of Ecored and vice-president of the Puntacana Group Foundation; Global Trends in Adventure and Ecotourism by Gabriella Stowell, Latam & Caribbean ATTA Regional Director; Central America & Dominican Republic Innovation + Tourism Talk, by representatives of Google and Trip Advisor, coordinated by the Federation of Chambers of Tourism of Central America (Fedecatur) and the Central America Tourism Agency, CATA.

Similarly, the Caribbean Adventure Travel Show, CATS, which we recently talked about in this newspaper, will be held on the stage of DATE.

Business rounds, press conferences and training workshops for participants will begin on April 1, culminating that night with a themed party at the recently opened Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana, the first hotel in the Macao area, characterized by one of the best beaches in the eastern part of the country.

The program also includes the presentation of the DATE Awards, especially granted to companies in the sector that have stood out for their contribution to the local tourism industry, as well as an exhibition of local handicrafts from the Dominican Republic.
