The World Food Championships (WFC) is set to return to Indianapolis for its 13th annual competition, taking place from October 16 to 19, 2025, at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion. Following a successful 2024 event, the WFC will once again bring together over 1,200 chefs and 300 teams from more than 35 states and 30 countries, competing for over $450,000 in prize money across multiple categories, including Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Seafood, and Vegetarian.
Since its inception in 2012, the WFC has grown into a global phenomenon, pioneering the concept of "Food Sport" and creating a platform that has generated over 10,000 new dishes. The competition has also made a significant impact on the culinary industry, fostering TV opportunities, ambassador programs, and community partnerships with food banks and non-profits across the U.S. "We are excited to return to Indianapolis and enhance this year's event with new programming to make it even more engaging for both competitors and fans," said Mike Eaton, CEO of WFC.
The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center continues to be a premier destination for large-scale events. Cindy Hoye, Executive Director, expressed pride in hosting WFC once again, noting that the state-of-the-art venue will offer an ideal setting for culinary excellence. The 2025 event is expected to attract a diverse global audience, further solidifying Indianapolis as a key location for international competitions.
In the coming weeks, WFC will unveil exciting updates, including modifications to its tournament model and new consumer experiences. Meanwhile, global qualification events have already commenced, giving chefs worldwide a chance to earn their spot through Golden Ticket qualifiers.
