WTM London Sustainability Summit to Focus on Regenerative Tourism Initiatives

The World Travel Market (WTM) London Sustainability Summit, set for Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Excel London, will center on regenerative tourism, highlighting how travel can be harnessed as a force for good.

Overseen by sustainability expert Tina O'Dwyer, the three-hour event will explore strategies to promote resilient communities, prosperous economies, and healthy ecosystems, under the broader WTM theme of "TravelPower."

Global thought leader Anna Pollock will open the summit with a keynote address on "Unlocking the Regenerative Tourism Paradigm," presenting successful case studies and actionable strategies. Elke Dens, founder of The Travel Foundation, will follow with insights on transformational tourism campaigns.

The summit will then spotlight Ireland's experience in applying regenerative tourism principles, with Orla Carroll, Director of Product Development at Fáilte Ireland, discussing the balance between economic growth and environmental restoration.

Debbie Clarke from The Centre for Good Travel, alongside Asta Sigurjonsdottir, CEO of the Iceland Tourism Cluster, will provide practical advice on translating regeneration principles into tangible tourism experiences.

The event will also feature Rob Holmes from GLP Films and Anne Kawalerski from Bloomberg Media Group, who will discuss effective communication strategies for sustainability initiatives. Tina O'Dwyer will conclude the summit by reflecting on the future of regenerative tourism and its transformative potential.

Juliette Losardo, Exhibition Director at WTM London, emphasized the importance of the summit, stating it provides a vital platform for sharing innovative ideas and fostering a future of tourism that prioritizes sustainability and prosperity for all.
