Excelencias Awards

In 2023, the Excelencias Group's goal is to continue supporting international outreach and strengthening communication by recognizing projects in several categories, focusing on this occasion on Mexico's Magical Towns. That's why it's creating the Magical Towns by Excelencias Awards, which will recognize projects from the 132 Magical Towns in the categories of nature, sustainability, gastronomy, religion, enology, paleontology, culture and heritage.

In addition, the awards will be presented to Mexico's "World Heritage Cities", which will present their projects to the jury, who will decide which of these projects combines the above-mentioned categories.

Nominations were opened on February 25, and they will have the option of submitting their projects and information (through this form) until March 14.

Nominations will be judged by a five-member panel of judges chaired by Jose Carlos de Santiago as President of the Excelencias Group.

As of February 27, citizens will have the chance to vote for the magical towns in the different categories assigned by the jury at www.caribbeannewsdigital.com

The selection of the winning candidacies will be based on a 40% popular vote, 50% jury vote and 10% vote by the Excelencias Group.

The award ceremony will take place in Mexico City on March 29, 2023, within the framework of the Tianguis Turístico at the Montejo Hall.

We're pleased to have received confirmation of attendance from Mexico's Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués and the support of the General Directorate of Magical Towns.

About the Excelencias Awards

The EXCELENCIAS AWARDS were created in 2005 by the "Excelencias Group" with the purpose of promoting excellence in different fields, all of them related to tourism and culture. Since then they have become a benchmark for all those who are involved in this important sector and develop their activity always with the goal of achieving excellence.

Within the framework of the Tianguis turístico during 2019 and 2021, some of the awards that had been received by Mexican institutions in the International Excellence Awards that had been delivered that same year, in Madrid, Spain, were once again handed out.
