The St. Regis New York Celebrates 120 Years with Stunning Renovation

The St. Regis New York is marking its 120th anniversary with a dramatic renovation of its public spaces, including the iconic lobby, the King Cole Bar, and two new dining outlets. This extensive redesign reflects a modern twist on the hotel's timeless elegance, led by renowned Champalimaud Design, while preserving the Beaux-Arts architecture and rich legacy of the Astor family.
Jenni Benzaquen, Senior Vice President of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the significance of the milestone, stating, "This anniversary reflects our enduring legacy of luxury and personalized service, ensuring that every experience is extraordinary and bespoke."
The renovation revives the hotel’s grandeur with updated Waterford crystal chandeliers, modern furnishings, and a rich color palette of emerald greens and red rose tones. Guests will experience refreshed spaces that blend the hotel's historic charm with contemporary sophistication, beginning from the moment they enter through the gilded rotating doors.
In addition to these updates, the lobby restaurant and lounge, The Drawing Room, has been reimagined with sumptuous velvet furnishings and artful details inspired by Caroline Astor’s glamorous wardrobe. The King Cole Bar also gets a refresh while maintaining its classic mural, with deep wood paneling and lavender accents enhancing the storied space.
A new dining venue, La Maisonette, will offer a French-inspired experience serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea—a tradition rooted in the hotel’s early days. This redesign invites guests to revel in the blend of heritage and modernity, reaffirming The St. Regis as a landmark of Manhattan luxury.
