ABASTUR: Where Hospitality Meets Business

ABASTUR® the most important Business Forum of the Hotel, Catering and Cafeteria Industry in Latin America is set to take place at Banamex Center, September 1 - 4.

ABASTUR®, an UBM Mexico’s event, is going to gather 800 exhibiting companies in 34 thousand square meters of exhibition ground, who will be showing services and products aimed at increasing the efficiency and productivity of the Hospitality Industry, HO. RE. CA.

Throughout four days, 28 thousand national and international visitors will have the opportunity to share business strategies with their trade partners.

The Hospitality Industry has gained momentum as a development factor and growth driving force for the economy of a country; that’s the reason why ABASTUR® is the stage where providers and buyers of the sector carry out market operations with the best terms and conditions, in an environment of business and professionalism.

With the support of the Mexican Association of Suppliers for the Travel Industry (AMAIT is the Spanish acronym), the alliance established with the National Association of Catering Industry and Spicy Food (CANIRAC is the Spanish acronym) and the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels (AMHM is the Spanish acronym), as well as the collaboration of the Economy Ministry by means of the National Institute of the Entrepreneur, Service Agency for Commercialization and Development of Agricultural Markets (ASERCA is the Spanish acronym); ABASTUR® stands as the finest event of its kind in Latin America

ABASTUR® is going to include the Coffee Show and the Cheese, Bread and Wine Pavilion, which will be showcasing a wide range of traditional and avant-garde products in an effort to strengthen or open new business lines in the hotel, catering, cafeteria and service industry.

The Agriculture and Food Pavilion will be exhibiting the finest products of the country, targeting the hospitality sector, with the support of SAGARPA.

The PYMES Pavilion will be made up of 290 micro-companies and showing Tequila, Mezcal, Wine, Coffee and Multi-sectorial Products.

2014 ABASTUR® will also include the Cocktail Mexica Contest, Olmeca Contest of Ice Sculptures, Mukimono, Butter and Buffet, as well as the Tlaxcalli Contest of Craft Baking®

Following the line of innovation, this is going to be the first time ABASTUR® presents the Gastronomic Forum, a space where professional chefs and expert speakers will be giving demonstrations and lectures on gastronomic trends.

The most outstanding Business Forum of the Hotel, Catering and Cafeteria Industry in Latin America has prepared a Program of Conferences and Workshops on current topics of interest that will have the participants up to date.

Likewise, a program of academic connections is going to be developed with university students related to the sector.

The Key to the Progress has been positioned as the paramount award of Mexico’s hotel and restaurant industry, a prize that is annually given to the main entrepreneurs and executives of the Hospitality Industry. The 2014 Winners in its four categories are: Restaurant Executive Lic. Juan Carlos Alverde Losada, Toks Restaurant Operations Director, Panda Express, Cup Stop and SET; Restaurant Entrepreneur Lic. Raúl Ramírez Degollado Hernández from El Bajío Restaurants; Hotel Executive Lic. Gustavo Alfonso Bolio Gómez, Corporate Director of Human Resources with Las Brisas Hotel Collection and Hotel Entrepreneur Mr. Daniel Chávez Morán with Vidanta Group. These recognitions are going to be delivered during the opening ceremony of 2014 ABASTUR®.
