Air Berlin to Start Operating to Havana

Air Berlin, the second largest German airline, will shortly begin operations to Havana with two new weekly flights between Dusseldorf city and this capital, the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) said. The new service will start as of May 28.
It will offer "excellent opportunities to continue strengthening ties between the Caribbean country and the German nation," the agency said.
The operation confirms Germany’s preference for Cuba as a travel Destination, the company said in a press release.
According to MINTUR, Air Berlin will open two weekly departures, on Thursdays and Saturdays, totaling five flights per week this summer.
The new operation will bring to Cuba more than 1,400 weekly capacities and those from the European nation will increase to more than 4,700, including flights with Condor, Air Berlin and Eurowings, the report stated.
