Argentina Comes to FITUR with High Hopes
Argentina has landed at Madrid’s IFEMA Fairgrounds with “high expectations,” Argentine tourism secretary Enrique Meyer said minutes before the grand opening. The South American country’s delegation is so far the largest ever sent to FITUR, Mr. Meyer pointed out.
According to the Argentine senior official, his country hopes to lure a significant amount of Spanish investors to fork over fresh cash flow into the local travel industry. In the same breath, Argentine authorities expect airlift between the two nations to soar significantly this year.
Mr. Meyer announced that Buenos Aires will play host to an Iberian-American Hotel Congress in the month of August and promised to reveal some details about the event in coming sessions within the framework of the Madrid tradeshow.
