Armenia Attended MITT international Travel & Tourism Exhibition

The National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia, along with 10 tourism companies, represented Armenia at the MITT International Travel & Tourism Exhibition in Moscow, Russia from March 19-22.

The Press Service of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia told Armenpress that MITT is Russia’s largest travel exhibition with over 1,800 participating companies from 198 destinations. In 2013, the event recorded an attendance of 37,000 visitors.

Armenia’s rich cultural, historical and Christian heritage was presented in travel guides and maps in Russian during the exhibition.

The Russian market is one of the target destinations of NCFA’s tourism promotion. Thus, Armenia’s participation in this travel show aimed at increasing the growth of inbound tourism flows from Russia, while maximizing the potential of Armenian-Russian cooperation in the tourism sector.

MITT is Russia’s leading and largest travel exhibition. With over 1,800 participating companies and 198 destinations, it is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients. In addition, it enables participants to increase awareness of their destination, gain a real feel for the Russian travel market and gauge demand for their services.

2014 marks MITT's 21st edition, held since 1994, the event has become the main industry forum for travel professionals. MITT welcomes both trade and consumer visitors, with specific ‘trade only’ days.

In 2013, the event recorded an attendance of 37,000 visitors, 74% of whom were travel trade professionals. As the demand for travel services in Russia grows and the spending power of Russian travelers becomes better known, the popularity of the event has continued to grow.
