Art by Excelencias Magazine Puts Outs Issues Two and Three

With the weekend launch in Havana of issues two and three of Art by Excelencias magazine, out publishing staff stresses its commitment to a project that saw the light of day in the summer in an effort to showcase the very best of the contemporary arts in the Caribbean and the Americas, as well as to provide a space for sharing views and igniting debates among artists, critics and experts in the field.

The two latest issues were mostly praised by the National Museum of Fine Arts’ deputy director Luz Merino Acosta, who extolled the excellent making of the publication and its good balance as far as topics are concerned. Mrs. Merino Acosta said the magazine bears watching and is very much in sync with the ongoing trend –both in Cuba and in the region- to further strengthen the ties between tourism and culture.

The launch was held at the Ruben Martinez Villena Hall of the National League of Writers and Artists (UNEAC is the Spanish acronym), attended by UNEAC president Miguel Barnet and a good deal of fine artists, curators, experts and researchers.

Frank Perez, chief of the magazine project at the Excelencias Group, availed himself of this opportunity to reiterate our company’s steadfast commitment to the peoples and cultures of both the Caribbean and the Americas, a dream with a dozen years under its belt that has already grown solid roots and has branched out dramatically in the field of international communications.

Mr. Perez said that Art by Excelencias is “one of the branches of what the Excelencias Group has turned out to be, a magazine that’s making the round in Spain, Colombia and the U.S.” The publication is backed up by a name-like online newspaper that keeps tabs on the daily artistic going in the region, as well as an art gallery located in Madrid’s Tirso de Molina Square, right in the heart of the Spanish capital’s cultural center.
