Boldface Names from International Haute Cuisine Land in Havana

Once again, Havana is the destination for those who love fine cuisine. This assertion is backed up by the arrival of prestigious figures from international haute cuisine that, along with Cuban gastronomy and tourism professionals, are going to attend the 4th Excelencias Gourmet International Gastronomic Seminar to take place at Meliá Cohiba Hotel, July 16-18.

That’s the case of Mr. Alfonso Marín Caffarena, Secretary General of the Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy, who is going to delight the 200 attendees with the magisterial lecture entitled: Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy. Iberian-American Capitals of Gastronomic Culture.

Likewise, the event is going to count on the presence of Spanish chef José María González Blanco – from Blanco Enea Restaurant – representing Cordoba (Spain), Capital of Gastronomic Culture in Iberian-America 2014 , and international chef Claudio Ferrer, from the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS). Their speeches will be dealing with tradition and innovation in terms of Iberian-American cuisine, as well as New Technologies and catering, respectively.

This is certainly a can’t-miss seminar for the winners of the 15x15 contest, held last year in Panama. Such is the case of chef Tomás Torres Rodríguez, from Oasis Hotel & Restaurant in Panama; Spanish chef Raúl Vaquerizo, a professor and international gastronomic consultant, who is scheduled to deliver a lecture on The Perfect Recipe; and chef José Melvin Vega, from the Maritime University of Panama, who will be talking about The Maritime Gastronomic Culture and The Cruise World.
