Cancun Welcomes the Second Annual Holbox Gastronomic Festival

The second annual Holbox Gastronomic Festival will take place this year Oct. 16 to 20 on Holbox, a 26-mile island located off Cancun’s coast. The festival will feature such celebrated Mexican chefs as Ricardo Munoz and Roberto Solis and is sponsored by the Island of Holbox Restaurant Association.

 Holbox will showcase island chefs as well as those from other parts of the country. It will include food, wine and mescal tastings, dinners prepared by Munoz, Chef and 16 local chefs. One-day festival bracelets may be purchased at the Hotel Arenas in Isla Holbox for $350 Mexican pesos, or about $30. Cost includes all festival activities. A variety of Holbox hotels are offering packages that include such amenities as festival tickets, spa treatments and transportation.

A variety of hotels -- Hotel Casa Sandra, Hotel La Casa de las Tortugas, Hotel Las Nubes, Hotel Villas Flamingos, Hotel Villas Paraiso del Mar, La Palapa, Hotel Arenas, Casa Barbara, Takiwara, Casa Lupita and Hotel Amaite -- are offering packages that include festival tickets, among other amenities.
