Caribbean Shines in the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice 2013

The recently announced TripAdvisor® "Travelers' Choice Awards Top 25 All-Inclusive Resorts, World" were totally controlled by the Caribbean region as resorts across Caribbean destinations took all top 10 spots and 18 out of the top 25 list as decided upon by consumer reviews and opinions worldwide.

"We are very proud of our Caribbean region which has lead the way in the creation and development of the all-inclusive category since its inception in 1978," said Jeff Vasser, director general and CEO of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), adding:  "Our Association is comprised of resorts from 33 national hotel associations in the Caribbean and we are filled with pride that our region has done so well with the consumers who make us the number one warm weather vacation destination in the world."

Vasser said: "I would especially like to congratulate our CHTA member resorts that have been singled out by the TripAdvisor community for this recognition and are among the top 25 all-inclusive resorts in the world including Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun, Playa Maroma, Playa del Carmen, Mexico; The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Sandals Royal Plantation, Ocho Rios, Jamaica;  The Body Holiday, Le Sport, Castries, St. Lucia;  Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Mexico; and Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, Negril, Jamaica."

Award winners were determined based on the most highly rated all-inclusive resorts on TripAdvisor, according to reviews and opinions of millions of travelers worldwide.  The average nightly rate of award-winning resorts was approximately $485 per night.
