Celebrations to Mark Excelencias Magazine’s 100th Issue Come to a Close

Following an exhibit of classic cars at the traditional Paseo del Prado in Havana, the capital’s Grand Theater hosted Thursday night the gala for the 100th issue of the Caribbean Tourist Excellence magazine, featuring the presentation of Cuba’s National Ballet Company, the Flamenco Boulevard group –made up of Andalusian performers- and the Junior Symphonic Orchestra.

The International Gastronomic Seminar in Havana organized by the Excelencias Group under the title “Restaurant Business in Cuba and the Caribbean: Fusion and Pairing,” was also part of the celebrations. The event included master lectures and other tasting sessions of habanos and spirits hailing from the region. The closing session was crowned by lecturer Rafael Anson, President of Spain’s Royal Gastronomic Academy.

The seminar took place at the Melia Cohiba Hotel in the Cuban capital and its second session embraced a number of master lectures that dealt with traditional cuisine in Cuba and the Caribbean in its wide array of preferences and assortments.

The Review exhibit opened Wednesday at the Origenes Gallery in Havana. The project was the event of choice for the presentation of Arte por Excelencias magazine’s 10th issue as part of the celebrations to mark the launch of the 100th issue of Caribbean Tourist Excellences magazine. A number of artists, like Manuel Mendive, Jose Villa, Reynerio Tamayo, Eduardo Abela, Rene Peña, Cirenaica Moreira, Ruslan Torres and R10, attended the ceremony at the Havana Grand Theater.

Review will remain open through Aug. 10 and features artworks by Jose Bedia, Roberto Diago, Rigoberto Mena, Luis E. Camejo, Arturo Montoto, Carlos Quintana, Kadir Lopez, Moises Finale, Angel Alfaro, Rene Francisco Rodriguez and Felipe Dulzaides.
