China Fosters Five New Destinations in FITUR 2016

The Chinese government is promoting five new provinces -Zhejian, Tianjin, Chengde, Yanbian and Guangdong- as tourism destinations in the 36th edition of FITUR, in a bid to position China as one of the favorite destinations for Spanish and international tourists.

"Beautiful China, Destinations and Opportunities" was the event that inaugurated the Chinese pavilion, which will be hosting shows of traditional dances, calligraphy and kung fu, among other activities.

The new tourism destinations were introduced during the session, as well as products and possible collaborations between companies and institutions from China and Spain.

Carlos Sentis, General Manager of Henkuai, the company that organized China’s pavilion, screened China’s two advertising videos 'The Power of Beauty: Grand Canal Peking - Hanzghou' and 'Sichuan: The Power of Nature', directed and produced for Tourism of China.

The event was attended by the Tourism director of China in Spain, Zhang Zhiyun, and the director of Air China in Madrid, Peter Han.

The Confucius Institute has underlined the importance of learning Chinese language "as a business opportunity."

On the other hand, China’s ambassador to Spain, Lyu Fan, told EFE that he’s interested in starting contacts with the Spanish executive in order to boost tourism between both countries.

"We want to initiate the contacts so as to obtain successful results," the ambassador underlined during the first day of Fitur.
