CIMET Brings Together Tourism Ministers, Businesspeople from Latin America

The CIMET Organizing Committee is calling industry businesspeople and managers to participate in the 20th Latin American Conference for Tourism Ministers and Businessmen as Guests of Honor.

This event, which will open the FITUR Program, will be staged at Feria de Madrid on the morning of Tuesday 17 January 2017 at its regular venue: the IFEMA Convention Centre. The CIMET meeting is held on the eve of the FITUR 2017 opening, which will be held from 18 to 22 January.

In collaboration with the Spanish Confederation of Employers’ Organizations, CEOE, and with FITUR, CIMET has now been staging uninterruptedly for two decades a Conference “at the service of all”, whether small, medium-size or large enterprises.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee decided to award the CIMET Medal to the Latin American Tourism Ministers and to Spanish Tourism personalities who have been awarded the Gold and Diamond Emblem and the Conference Badge over these past 20 years.

The overwhelming majority of top personalities in Spanish and Latin American Tourism have accepted the invitation and will take part in this important event, which will again attract the elite of the Tourism world.

Ministers and personalities have confirmed their presence at CIMET 2017, thus ensuring an exceptional twentieth staging of the Latin American Conference. They will be joined by almost two hundred businesspeople and professionals, together with a selection of guest professors and students from the principal Tourism faculties of our most important universities.

Furthermore, to enliven the Conference, it will be held in a new format that will allow ministers and businesspeople to debate on panels during this 20th Conference devoted to Customers: new demand and distribution technologies; Transport: air connectivity and open skies policy; Destination: environmental sustainability and climate change; and Accommodation: the hotel industry’s funding issues.

A panel of Latin American Ministers and Spanish Businesspeople (plus the presidents of the principal CEOE Organizations) will be formed for each one of these four major topics, which will be chaired by a recognized expert in the subject and moderated by a member of the Organizing Committee.

The 20th Conference will be held under the Presidency of Honor of the King of Spain and will be memorialized by the Ministry of Development with a commemorative postal stamp issue as well as with the CIMET Medal, which is being coined by the Real Casa de la Moneda, the Spanish Royal Mint.

Any businesspeople, managers and professionals interested in attending the 20th Latin American Conference for Tourism Ministers and Businessmen may apply for their accreditation via the following email: Presidencia@CIMET.es

The NEXO Group thus reaffirms its commitment to CIMET, an effective instrument at the service of the internationalization of Spanish Tourism in Latin America.
