Condor Opens Flights between Germany and Cuba’s Santa Clara

With the arrival on Monday to the Abel Santamaria International Airport of Santa Clara of a flight from Munich, Germany, a new line uniting that country with the Cuban city was officially inaugurated. This arrival marked the beginning of the high tourist season in that territory, one of the most promising tourist areas on the Caribbean island.

The 103 passengers traveling to Santa Clara showed their predilection for the beaches of the northern cays of Villa Clara, in addition to other attractions linked to the culture and history of this part of the island, the Cubadebate website reported.

Ren Wollschlaeger, one of the visitors that arrived in Santa Clara in the Condor Airlines flight, told the press that he had the opportunity to know Havana during a previous excursion and that now he repeats the visit to enjoy other interesting attractions in Cayo Santa Maria, Santa Clara, Cienfuegos and other places he plans to visit.

According to Jorge Luis Jimenez, a specialist of the Tourism Office in Villa Clara, the flight, which will have a weekly frequency, is part of a strategy to diversify markets and of the interest to continue growing in terms of the number of tourists visiting the province, presently between six and ten thousand a month.
