Conviasa Given Approval to Increase Flights to Guyana

The Venezuelan state-owned airline, Conviasa, will be increasing its flights to and from Guyana.

At a post-Cabinet briefing on Friday, presidential advisor on governance, Gail Teixeira disclosed that Cabinet has approved the airline’s request to upgrade their non-scheduled air services on the Puerto Ordaz-Georgetown- Puerto Ordaz route.

The non-scheduled flights are to occur twice a week to Guyana, arrangements for will be worked out by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority, Teixeira said.

The airline began flights to and from Guyana at the end of 2013, with a once weekly flight between Georgetown and Puerto Ordaz.
