Cuba Held International Wine Festival
Cuba held a three-day international wine festival last week to boost the country's tourism industry. The festival, which took place at the historic luxury Hotel Nacional de Cuba in the country's capital, attracted entrepreneurs, commercial representatives, department stores and beverage distributors from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Cuba, Spain, France and Italy.
Cuba's tourism authorities said the event served as an exchange platform among wine producers, traders and sommeliers. Prominent wine tasters from Spain's Bodegas Torres, a historical wine company, and the sparkling wine producer Freixenet also attended the festival.
Wine consumption in the Caribbean island country increased during recent years, thanks to its booming tourism industry.
