Cuba Ron to Hold 4th International Scientific Technical Colloquium on Light Rum

The 4th International Scientific Technical Colloquium on Light Rum is scheduled to take place at Cardenas Rum Factory, Varadero, Cuba, on May 24-26.

National and international sellers, producers and professionals of the rum industry are set to gather in order to show the latest trends in the sector by means of exhibits, tasting sessions, seminars, lectures and presentations of new products.

The event will be carried out in Varadero, where the Arechabala empire was born, consolidated and it later became Cardenas Rum Factory, managed by Cuba Ron Corp.

Several activities are comprised by the three-day program, such as a guided visit to the rum factory, a lecture entitled “From Arechabala Industries to Cardenas Rum Factory, peculiarities of the city, origins, traditions, architecture”, as well as a demonstration of flair tending with the Bartenders Association.

Some specialized lectures will be given on day two at the theater of “Arenas Blancas” Barceló Hotel, where attendees are going to debate on the reasons Havana Club is so successful and the company’s plans thru 2030. Afterwards, the panelists will be talking about the characteristics of the western rums.

On that very day, they are scheduled to assess the business opportunities in the industry within the framework of Cuba’s new foreign investment law.

Competitions with different categories are also included in the colloquium: Gourmet, Cocktails and Blind Taste.
