Cuba to Showcase New Business Lines at FITUR 2015

Cuba will present new lines of business among its novelties at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid from January 28 to February 1, said the Ministry of Tourism of the island.

The Cuban delegation headed by the minister, Manuel Marrero, will report on new facilities and services in a stand of 170 square meters in Hall 10 of the exhibition, which involves 9,107 companies from 165 countries.

According to the press release, the focus this year will be on Santiago de Cuba and Remedios that celebrate their fifth anniversary as destinations, and Jardines del Rey, star of the 35th International Tourism Fair (FITCuba), from May 5 to 7, dedicated to nautical products.

During the fair in Madrid, Cuba will present novelties of the Paradiso agency, dedicated to cultural product, and a new album of Eliades Ochoa, legendary Cuban musician who sang with Buena Vista Social Club and the quartet Patria.

As usual, the delegation will include information on the Caribbean archipelago main destinations: Havana, Varadero, Trinidad, the Keys on North Villa Clara, Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo and Holguin.

Besides the Minister Marrero, Cuban delegation to Fitur comprises Maria del Carmen Orellana, Commercial Director, and Jose Alonso, director of Business and Tourism Counselor of the Embassy of Cuba in Spain, Dulce María Sánchez.

The Cuban stand will offer information on products of the hotel chains Gran Caribe, Islazul, Cubanacán, Habaguanex, Gaviota Group, Iberostar, Pestana Group, Meliá Hotels and NH Hotels.

Travel Agencies Cubanacan, Havanatur, Cubatur and Gaviotatours, the tour-operator Guama-Havanatur, Cubana de Aviación Airline, Paradiso and the National Museum of Fine Arts will be represented as well.

The company Caracol will take the cigar roller Jose Castelar (Cueto), holder of several Guinness records for the longest cigars in the world.
