Cuban Flag Carrier Resumes Nonstop Flights to Costa Rica

The head of the institutional communication group of Cubana de Aviacion SA, Walfredo Riveron, said on Thursday that the island's flag carrier will reintroduce direct flights between Cuba and Costa Rica on November 16.
He added that the new route for the Cuban airline is part of an action plan aimed at strengthening tourist exchanges between the two nations and to reintroduce these direct flights to San Jose that stopped in August 2008.
The route will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, with departures from Havana in the morning and a flight time of two hours and thirty minutes, the official explained, adding that these flights will be operated by Antonov 158 aircraft, with a capacity of 85 passengers.
