Excelencias Group’s Publication Gets Major International Award in Ecuador

Excelencias Group’s Editor-in-Chief and President Jose Carlos de Santiago has been given in Guayaquil, within the framework of the International Tourism Show in Ecuador, FITE, the First Gold Category Award to an International Publication for an article published on Excelencias Turísticas del Caribe y las Américas magazine on the Galapagos Islands.

FITE’s award recognizes the quality of the article published in two issues, 112 and 114, of Grupo Excelencias’ flagship magazine, entitled Viaje a las Inigualables islas del encanto (Trip to the Peerless Galapagos Islands) and Santa Cruz, la mayor reserva natural de Galápagos (Santa Cruz: the Galapagos’ Largest Natural Reserve), penned by Jose Carlos de Santiago.

“I’ve heard many people saying 'if you go to Ecuador, you are to visit the Galapagos Islands'. When you hear Galapagos, the first things that come to your mind are the famous giant turtles. And you imagine a wild island, a true Jurassic park inhabited by those prehistoric creatures, descendants of dinosaurs. False,” that’s how the first article kicks off.

It later goes into the “time travel” that entails touring the Ecuadorian archipelago, World Natural Heritage, and details visits to islands Santa Cruz, San Cristobal and Isabela, with a vivid description of local nature and the impression caused by this singular corner of the planet.
