Excelencias Group to Present the 2008 Excelencias Awards in Madrid’s FITUR

The Excelencias Group is pleased to announce that the jury that will deliver the company’s annual awards has concluded the previous assessment of all nominees and has decided to present the 2008 Excelencias Awards to the winners in the following categories:

Culture & Heritage

- Certificate and Trophy to Cuba’s Tourism Ministry for the adequate tourism-oriented use of architectural heritage.

- Certificate & Trophy to the Havana Historian Office for the conservation and recovery of Old Havana’s historic core.

- Certificate & Trophy to the state of Jalisco for the preservation of the purest Mexican traditions.

Ecology & Environment

- Certificate & Trophy to Aruba’s Tourism Minister and the Aruba Tourism Authority for making Aruba the safest island in the Caribbean.

- Certificate & Trophy to Brazil’s Tourism Minister for the development and conservation of the country’s northeast coast.

- Certificate & Trophy to the Dominican Republic’s Tourism Ministry for the advance of its beach recovery plan.

All awards will be presented during this year’s edition of FITUR in Madrid.
