Fathom said it would offer 50 percent off pricing for trips to the Dominican Republic. The startup social-impact cruise line, created by Carnival Corp., plans to start seven-day trips between Miami and the north coast of the Dominican Republic in April.

April-May cruises had been priced starting at $1,256 per person and June rates had begun at $1,465 per person. Under the promotion, those lead in prices would be $628 and $733 per person, respectively.

“This offer is a great way for two friends, loved ones or family members to be among the first to sail on a Fathom voyage to the Dominican Republic,” said Tara Russell, president of Fathom.

The pricing is available for cruises booked by Feb. 29 either with a phone call or through a travel agent, but not online, Fathom said. Taxes, fees and port expenses are not included, and are currently $208 per person. Staff gratuities are also not included.

Fathom is also planning trips to Cuba starting in May. The 50 percent off pricing is not extended to those cruises.
